Resolving Everyday Conflict Course

Some of you may remember Resolving Everyday Conflict when we used it as a Sunday school class back in Spring of 2016. Many of us were encouraged by its strong scriptural teaching and direct application. This fall we will be running Resolving Everyday Conflict as a seminar. This eight week course combines teaching sessions on DVD, small group breakout discussions, and take home work to encourage us to grow in our ability to make peace with those around us.

Why offer this course again?

Because it is that important! The church, like the world will have conflict. Scripture records constant conflict in the Old Testament and much internal strife in the early church (Romans 14, I Corinthians 7, Philippians 4, James 4, etc). But we must be different in how we handle conflict! The good news is since God has made peace with us (Romans 5:1), we have the power and the responsibility to “If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.” (Romans 12:18) Resolving Everyday Conflict shows how the power of Jesus transforms lives and relationship. The beautiful thing is how it shares the gospel in down to earth ways that an unchurched person can understand. This course has the potential to disciple believers and evangelize unbelievers at the same time!

Who is this course for?

  1. Those who weren’t able to come for the Sunday School class. This is a prime opportunity to go through training that covers a crucial aspect of christian discipleship. Every Christian can benefit!

  2. Those who came to the Sunday School class. This is a good time to review the material. I need to be reminded of this! I’m looking forward to a refresher course! We will also have a chance to go into the workbooks in a more in depth way than the Sunday School course.

  3. People who don’t go to Faith Church. This course is tailor made to share the gospel while caring for your friends. Everyone has conflicts. This course meets this basic human need. At the same it, it lovingly shows how our sin causes conflicts and how Jesus brings us peace with each other and peace with God. So pray for who God is calling you to invite, invite them, and come with them!

Resolving Everyday Conflict will begin on Wednesday September 20th at 7PM and run weekly until November 8th. Each session will last no longer than 90 minutes. Childcare is provided. You can register online ( or in the back narthex of the church. May the Prince of Peace continue to mold us into a peacemaking church.

Grace and Peace,

Pastor Andrew
